Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of GroovyShelves, including the website, installed web app and supported mobile app experiences. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

GroovyShelves helps you organize and explore vinyl collections. Features may include collections, wishlists, shelves, ratings, reviews, community activity, pressing information, marketplace links, the Watchlist and statistics.

GroovyShelves is currently an independent, non-commercial project offered without a paid subscription or advertising. If that changes in a way that materially affects these Terms or how personal data is processed, the legal documents will be updated before the relevant change takes effect.

2. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account. You may not impersonate another person or use GroovyShelves in a way that interferes with the service or other users.

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a GroovyShelves account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. GroovyShelves does not currently offer accounts to anyone under 18.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit, such as reviews, profile information and other user-created material. You grant GroovyShelves a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate and provide the service according to its visibility settings.

You may not submit content that is unlawful, infringes another person’s rights, is deliberately deceptive, threatening or abusive, or is intended to damage or misuse the service.

User-created content and conduct are also subject to the Community Guidelines & Moderation Policy. Reports and final decisions to remove a reported review or restrict account access are currently reviewed by a person; GroovyShelves does not currently use an automated system to make those final moderation decisions.

4. Third-party data and services

GroovyShelves may display or link to information, artwork, listings or services supplied by third parties. Third-party names, trademarks, artwork and data remain subject to their respective owners’ rights and terms. Availability, metadata, marketplace listings and external links may change or contain errors.

Discogs API notice: This application uses Discogs’ API but is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs. ‘Discogs’ is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC.

TIDAL artwork and catalog content: GroovyShelves may use the TIDAL Developer Platform to locate and display album artwork and related catalog information. TIDAL content, names, logos, trademarks and artwork remain subject to TIDAL’s and the applicable rights holders’ rights and terms. TIDAL-sourced content is shown with TIDAL attribution where required. GroovyShelves’s use of the TIDAL Developer Platform is subject to the TIDAL Developer Terms and applicable TIDAL guidelines. You may not use GroovyShelves to scrape, extract, download, republish, redistribute or build a separate database from TIDAL content, or use TIDAL-sourced content obtained through GroovyShelves with artificial-intelligence or machine-intelligence services or tools. GroovyShelves is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by TIDAL.

eBay content and API terms: Where GroovyShelves displays content obtained through eBay APIs, GroovyShelves grants you only a limited, revocable sublicense to view that eBay content through GroovyShelves. You do not receive any right to access or control an eBay API or any GroovyShelves eBay Application Key. By using GroovyShelves features that display eBay content, you agree to be bound by the eBay Developers Program Terms of Use and API License Agreement as applicable to your use of that content through GroovyShelves. eBay is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the eBay sublicense and applicable eBay-related provisions and may enforce those provisions directly against you. The sublicense to display eBay content may be revoked at any time and ends when GroovyShelves’s right to display that content ends.

Tradera content and API terms: Where GroovyShelves displays content obtained through the Tradera API, GroovyShelves grants you only a limited sublicense to display that Tradera content and applicable Tradera API logos through GroovyShelves. You do not receive access to the Tradera API, GroovyShelves’s Tradera application credentials, or any right to sublicense Tradera content further. By using GroovyShelves features that display Tradera content, you agree to the provisions of the Tradera API License Agreement and the Tradera User Agreement that are applicable to you as an end user of GroovyShelves. Tradera retains its rights in the Tradera API, databases, Tradera content and API logos. Tradera is expressly a third-party beneficiary of this Tradera sublicense and may enforce the applicable provisions directly against you. The Tradera sublicense may be terminated with immediate effect at any time and ends automatically if GroovyShelves’s right to display the relevant Tradera content ends.

5. Marketplace and Watchlist information

Marketplace features and Watchlist price alerts are informational tools. GroovyShelves is not the seller, buyer or payment provider for transactions completed on external marketplaces and does not guarantee that a listing remains available or that displayed prices, currencies or item details are complete or current.

6. Availability and changes

We may maintain, improve, replace or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, but we aim to operate GroovyShelves responsibly and protect user data in accordance with applicable law.

7. Suspension and termination

Access may be restricted, a reported album review may be removed, or an account may be temporarily or indefinitely banned from signing in when reasonably necessary to protect GroovyShelves, its users or third parties, or where these Terms, the Community Guidelines or applicable law are seriously or repeatedly violated. Where the current moderation tools allow a narrower effective measure, GroovyShelves may prefer it over restricting the entire account. Information about reporting, moderation decisions and how to request review is available in the Community Guidelines & Moderation Policy. You may stop using GroovyShelves and delete your account through the available account controls.

8. Responsibility and mandatory rights

GroovyShelves is provided subject to applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, GroovyShelves is not responsible for losses caused solely by third-party services, external marketplace transactions or circumstances outside GroovyShelves’s reasonable control.

9. Changes to these Terms

These Terms are versioned. If a future change is material enough to require renewed agreement, GroovyShelves may ask you to accept the new version before continuing to use relevant account features. Earlier acceptance records are retained as part of the account’s legal history.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law. If you are a consumer, any mandatory rights concerning applicable law or where a dispute may be heard remain unaffected.
